OUR SERVICES
At East Coast K9, we offer personalized training programs designed to help dogs and their owners build confidence, communication, and reliable skills for everyday life. Whether you're building a foundation or working toward advanced goals, our services are tailored to support you and your dog's individual needs.
Private Lesson
Private Lessons provide focused, personalized training tailored specifically to you and your dog. These one-on-one sessions are designed to give you the tools, skills, and understanding needed to build a stronger relationship and create lasting behavior change. Most private lessons begin in your home, allowing us to address your dog's behavior in the environment where they spend the most time. Depending on your dog's goals and progress, sessions may also take place in real-world locations to practice skills around everyday distractions. During each lesson, we'll work together to improve communication, develop practical skills, and create training strategies that fit your lifestyle. You'll learn step-by-step techniques, hands-on handling skills, and effective ways to reinforce your dog's training between sessions. When appropriate, my own dog may also be incorporated into lessons to demonstrate training concepts, help your dog practice obedience around another dog, or provide a controlled opportunity to work on focus, neutrality, and appropriate behavior in the presence of another dog. Whether we're working on basic obedience, leash manners, confidence building, engagement, or addressing specific behavior challenges, every lesson is customized to support your dog's individual needs and help you achieve reliable results in everyday life.

1:1 Adventure Hour
Adventure Hour is a one-on-one training session where I pick up your dog and take them on a real-world training adventure—without you. Each session is tailored to your dog's individual goals and takes place in carefully selected public environments, such as parks, walking trails, pet-friendly stores, or other appropriate locations based on their training needs and comfort level. During our time together, we'll focus on building practical skills, confidence, and reliability in everyday situations. Whether we're working on leash manners, neutrality around distractions, confidence in new environments, engagement, or general obedience, every outing is designed to create meaningful learning opportunities while reinforcing good decision-making. After each Adventure Hour, you'll receive an update on what we worked on, how your dog did, and what progress was made, so you can stay involved every step of the way.

Group Lesson
Group Lessons are designed to help you and your dog take the skills learned in private sessions and apply them in a real-world environment. These small group classes take place at Benson's Park, where natural distractions—people, dogs, movement, and everyday sounds—create the perfect setting to practice focus, communication, and reliability. During each lesson, you'll work hands-on with your own dog while learning how to effectively apply training techniques in the presence of real-world distractions. We'll focus on building engagement, strengthening obedience skills, improving leash manners, and developing the confidence needed to navigate everyday environments together. Each class is intentionally kept small to provide a supportive learning environment while still giving dogs valuable opportunities to practice around other handlers, dogs, and distractions. Rather than simply teaching commands, our goal is to help you and your dog build a stronger relationship, clearer communication, and reliable skills that carry over into daily life. Group Lessons are a great next step for dogs who have established foundational skills through private training and are ready to practice those skills in a more challenging environment. You'll leave each session with practical tools and exercises you can continue working on with your dog beyond class.

Desensitization Lesson
Cooperative Care Sessions are designed to help your dog build confidence and comfort with essential handling and care routines. Each session focuses on one specific skill chosen by you, such as muzzle conditioning, crate training, nail trims, grooming, or vet-style handling. Because these skills require time, patience, and proper conditioning, each training goal requires a minimum of two sessions to allow for steady progress and a positive learning experience. By focusing on one skill at a time, we can work at your dog's pace to build trust, tolerance, and cooperation. The goal is to make everyday care routines safer, smoother, and less stressful for both you and your dog. Booking requests will only be accepted once both required session times have been selected.

Day Camp: COMING SOON!
Day Camp is a full day of structured training where you drop your dog off with me for a personalized learning experience—without needing to be present. Each dog's day is tailored to their individual goals and may include training at my facility as well as carefully selected public environments, depending on their needs, comfort level, and progress. Throughout the day, dogs participate in a variety of training sessions designed to build practical skills, confidence, and reliability in everyday situations. Whether we're working on obedience, leash manners, engagement, confidence in new environments, impulse control, social neutrality, or learning how to settle and relax, every activity is planned with your dog's individual development in mind. Unlike traditional daycare, Day Camp is intentionally training-focused. Dogs spend the day rotating through structured training sessions, enrichment activities, appropriate rest periods, and carefully managed interactions. Throughout the day, your dog will have opportunities to train around my other Day Camp dogs, practicing focus, neutrality, and appropriate behavior in the presence of real-world distractions. These controlled experiences help build confidence, improve reliability, and reinforce the ability to remain calm and engaged around other dogs without relying on free-for-all group play. After each Day Camp, you'll receive an update on what your dog worked on, how they performed, and the progress they made, so you can stay involved every step of the way while their training continues between lessons.
